Why Education and Safety Are at the Heart of My RV School And Why We Travel the Country to Spread the Word
At My RV School, our mission is simple—but powerful: educate RVers so they can travel safely, confidently, and prepared for anything the road throws their way. That mission is what drives us—literally—as we travel across the country to teach at RV rallies, safety seminars, and industry events.
We believe RV education isn't just about learning how to drive or hook up your rig. It's about protecting your investment, keeping your loved ones safe, and building the confidence to fully enjoy the freedom of RV life. Here’s why safety and education are at the core of everything we do—and why we won’t stop until every RVer knows how to travel smart.
🧠 Education Is Empowerment
Driving and maintaining an RV is not like driving a car or staying in a hotel. It’s a unique blend of mechanics, logistics, lifestyle, and decision-making. Many RV owners—especially new ones—don’t realize how much there is to learn until they’re already dealing with an issue on the road.
That’s where education comes in.
We teach RVers:
How to safely operate their rig, regardless of size
How to properly hitch and tow
Why correct weight distribution matters
How to handle emergency braking
What to do in the event of a tire blowout or fire
And how to set up and break down campsites the right way
We don’t believe in fear-based teaching. Instead, we focus on knowledge-based confidence—giving you the skills you need to avoid problems before they happen and handle them calmly if they do.
🔥 Safety Is Not Optional—It's Critical
Every year, thousands of RV accidents and fires occur—not due to mechanical failure, but because of lack of preparation or understanding. Simple mistakes like improper tire pressure, overloaded trailers, or mishandled propane systems can lead to disaster.
At My RV School, we prioritize four key areas of RV safety in every workshop and seminar we lead:
✅ Safe Driving
We teach hands-on, real-world techniques to help RVers handle their rigs with confidence—from turning and backing up to navigating highways, city streets, and tight campgrounds.
✅ Fire Safety
We cover critical topics like fire extinguisher placement and use, smoke and propane detector checks, electrical safety, and what to do (and not do) if a fire breaks out in your rig.
✅ Tire Safety
Most RVers don’t realize how often tire failure is the root cause of road incidents. We teach about proper inflation, load ratings, tire monitoring systems, and how to inspect tires before every trip.
✅ Emergency Preparedness
Whether it’s a roadside breakdown, storm, or medical event, being prepared can make all the difference. We help RVers create plans, pack emergency kits, and think ahead—so panic is replaced with calm action when it counts.
🚚 Why We Travel the Country to Teach
We believe education should be accessible. That’s why we load up our own rig and bring our expertise directly to RVers at events, rallies, and campgrounds across the country. We want to meet people where they are—in their RVs, living the lifestyle—and give them the tools to do it safely.
Traveling lets us:
Reach new RVers who may never seek out a classroom
Stay up-to-date on the real questions and challenges RVers are facing
Provide in-person, hands-on training that makes lessons stick
Build community and long-lasting connections with the people we teach
Every stop we make is an opportunity to prevent accidents, increase confidence, and build safer roads—one RVer at a time.
